What should we wear for fall photos?
Cozy, coordinated, and timeless is the goal. Think earth tones, layers, and textures—creams, rusts, olives, and soft neutrals always photograph beautifully against fall foliage. What if it rains or the weather’s bad?
Nebraska weather keeps us on our toes! I always keep a backup date or two on hand. If the weather looks questionable, I’ll be in touch 24–48 hours before to reschedule your session to the next available golden-hour day.
Can we bring pets?
Absolutely! Furry family members are always welcome—just bring a leash, some treats, and maybe a lint roller for later.
How many photos will we receive?
You’ll get access to a proofing gallery with the best images from our time together.. From there, you’ll choose your included favorites, with the option to upgrade and purchase more if you’d like!
How long is the session?
Mini sessions are 15 minutes—short, sweet, and perfect for littles or holiday card updates. Full sessions run about 30–60 minutes and give us more time for movement, variety, and storytelling.
Can grandparents or extended family join?

What’s the best time of day to shoot in fall?
Golden hour—always. That dreamy, warm light about an hour before sunset is what gives fall photos their signature glow. I’ll time your session for optimal lighting depending on the date and location.
Do you offer mini sessions or full sessions?
Yes to both! Fall Minis are on select dates in October and include a shorter session at a set location. Full sessions are more customizable with flexible dates and locations. Both come with beautifully edited images and the same storytelling care.
How do I book? Is a deposit required?
Booking is super easy! Just head to the booking page and select your preferred session type. A signed agreement and 25% retainer secures your spot. The remaining balance is due one week before your session.

Fall in Nebraska isn’t an overnight transformation—it’s a slow, beautiful fade that stretches from late September through early November, with color stages that vary depending on weather, rainfall, and temperature shifts.
Late September: Just a Hint of Change
Early fall teases the transition. Trees are still mostly green, but you’ll spot a few golden leaves peeking through—especially on maples and cottonwoods. The grass is still lush, and wildflowers are fading. It’s soft and subtle, great for warm-toned late-summer sessions with just a hint of autumn.
Early to Mid-October: The Sweet Spot Begins
Around October 8–15, the show starts. Reds, oranges, and golden yellows spread across parks and tree-lined trails. Cooler nights speed up the change, and dry, sunny days bring out the vibrance. This is when fall starts to feel like fall. Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding areas hit their most colorful blend during this window.
Mid to Late October: Peak Color
Nebraska’s peak foliage typically lands between October 15–25. The trees are on fire—crimson, gold, amber—and the air has that crisp, cozy edge. This is prime time for fall minis, golden-hour glow, and soft flannel vibes. Everything looks cinematic.
Late October to Early November: The Fade
By October 28–November 5, leaves start to drop. Yellows linger longer, but reds and oranges begin to dull. The ground becomes a mosaic of color, and bare branches mix with the last of the season’s warmth. It’s moodier, quieter, and perfect for storytelling sessions with a more nostalgic, end-of-season feel.
